Project 1: Research A Case Study

The following is the brief that I received for this project.


We are required to work in two and study a digital publication. After discussing with my group member, Nicholas, we agreed on doing webtoon.


Process
After deciding on the subject, we split the job among ourselves which Nicholas will do research on digital publishing, and I research on the history of webtoon. We compiled all of our research on Google Doc so that both of us can read each other's findings before we sort the important points out. 
                                     

Then we proceed to the analysis of Webtoon. During the analysis, we had our discussions on WhatsApp. I also took some time to take screenshots and screen recording for examples to support our points.

Reflection

Experience
While I was doing research for this case study, I felt a bit lost at first, because it's been a long time since the last time I read long passages. However, I got used to it after some time. I have a good team member who cooperates a lot. We could come to an agreement after discussions even if we had different opinions at first. 

Observation
We should have chosen one webtoon to analyze which can give clearer ideas of this digital publication. As our points are a bit out of place, we have missed out a few important points. 
Also, I think that I wasn't well prepared for the presentation as we took a lot of time doing the slides and amendment of the points. Hopefully, I can be well prepared for presentation next time, so that my mind won't go blank while presenting.

Findings
Through presentations from other teams and my team, I got to know that there are differences between digital publications and an app. This project has given me an idea of what digital publication is.
